As reported by Dailymail, adults who drank two glasses before meals lost about 4 lb weight equivalent of 1,814 pounds or more, compared to those who did not drink water.

The research merupaka one of 11 studies on the effects of drinking water on diet are reviewed by experts and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutritrion. Three other research in-review other states also clear evidence that water consumption can help boost weight loss success.


According to one of the researchers who conducted the review, Brenda Davy of Virginia Tech, water consumption can help reduce hunger and help dieters reduce calorie intake.

This is supported by another study that found that women who increased water consumption during the diet lost more weight than those who drank less than 1 liter of water per day.

Rebecca Muckelbauer, researchers from the Berlin School of Public Health, Charité University Medical Center Berlin, Germany who led a review of research on water states, satiety is the main reason a person lose weight.

But he also suspect there is another reason behind this phenomenon is the effect of thermogenesis induced by water. He says, drinking water can also increase energy expenditure of the body. In other words, there is the energy released by the body from the effects of drinking water. Muckelbauer recognized, this conjecture has not been investigated further.

Of some of the research that is reviewed by Muckelbauer and his team, not all studies have shown that those who drink a lot of water can be more slender. In fact, people who are obese drink more water than those who are not overweight.

He also said the Americans could mengasup 400-500 calories per day from sugar-sweetened beverages. According Muckelbauer intake it will give better results, if replacing plain water.

Benefits of water consumption is also recognized many other studies. One study found women who drank plain water, instead of sugary drinks, reduce the risk of diabetes. Women who drink a lot of water is also a small risk of developing kidney stones.
